Program Description
The Academy of Finance gives high school students an opportunity to learn about and prepare for college careers in business and finance as they study the stock market, personal finances, accounting, and entrepreneurship. Emphasis is placed on a college curriculum that is directly linked to the business world.

Program Highlights
The Academy of Finance provides students with professional mentors and opportunities for career shadowing. Following the junior year, students may particpate in paid summer internships with opportunities for part-time employment. Students have access to financial business contacts for career positions as they build their professional resume. Finance Academy students are given the chance to obtain the MOS Industry Certification. While at John I. Leonard, students can joining clubs such as Future Business Leaders of America (FBLA) that particpate in district, state and national business competitions. They can put their business acumen to the test by becoming a part of the School Store Management Team. The John I. Leonard Finance Academy provides students with various opportunities to enhance their business skills.
